iG - How was the day on the course?
Jim Rutledge - It’s always nice to come home and see all my friends and
the people of the Uplands GC that gave me so much support over
the years playing around the world on various tours.
iG - What was the year on tour like overall?
Jim Rutledge - No real surprises, had lots of fun and played some
really beautiful and challenging golf courses. My focus now is to
learn from this year and the anticipation for the upcoming tour school
is fabulous.
iG - What is the biggest thing you can take from this year?
Jim Rutledge - The experience I gained from playing in more PGA
tournaments and learn from my mistakes and make improvements to my
game. Get right back at it with Tour School, feel great , healthy and a
positive mind set!
iG - What did you find different from the golf courses on the PGA Tour and other tours you have played?
Jim Rutledge - The golf courses have deeper rough, narrower
fairways and faster greens ( on average 11-13 on the stimp meter)!
iG - Best hi-light from this past year?
Jim Rutledge - Playing Spyglass Hill GC in Carmel- most beautiful setting and very challenging.
Q - What was the support like from family and friends like this year?
Jim Rutledge - Fantastic, great support from Family and
friends this year. My first event in Hawaii a total of 8 friends
and family made the trip out to watch.
iG - How would you rate your play overall play this year?
Jim Rutledge - Just average, felt I was playing on 3 cylinders all
year. Couldn't put a complete game together. The experience on the
tougher conditions is going to help me with tour school this year!
iG - How was your reception from other players on Tour?
Jim Rutledge - In general, it was very positive - Vijay Singh was
the first big name to congratulate me on making the PGA Tour and Fred
Couples also gave me a pat on the back.
iG - What are your plans for the next few weeks?
Jim Rutledge - Taking a few weeks off right now and re-charge the body for preparation for Tour School in the Fall.
