National Development team members Riley Wheeldon of Courtenay, B.C. and Rebecca Lee-Bentham of Richmond Hill, Ont., captured their respective boys' and girls' divisions at the CN Future Links Pacific Championship as play concluded Sunday (May 4th) at the Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community in Courtenay, B.C.

If you visit Crown Isle this season, don't be surprised if your cart girl breaks into song.  That's because one of Crown Isle's friendly cart girls Lindsay Gibson has also been performing all over the Comox Valley after winning the People's Choice Award at last spring's Valley Idol competition. Through her success in Valley Idol, Lindsay also earned a scholarship to CYMC's musical theatre program. Lindsay said the support she has received from Crown Isle and its members has been phenomenal. "Thank you to everyone who has come out to support me, especially Art Meyers and Brian Dyke and family," Lindsay said.

Storey Creek board of directors has announced two new appointments to their staff.

New General Manager, Andrew Gilchrist, comes to Storey Creek after five years as General Manager at Royal Mayfair in Edmonton while new Assistant Green's Superintendent Scott Webster comes from Westwood Plateau.

It was "Osborne Day" at Glacier Greens Sunday Mixed Golf on Jan. 6th. The weather wasn't good but they didn't get rain, and since the wee lads and lasses had not played since Nov. 25th, a total of 19 members came to have some fun. Low gross with plus eight were Mac Osborne, Phil Nakashima, Fred Williams, Marlene Hill and Jim Hume. Low net with minus seven were Graham Osborne, Glen Meeres, Norm Fellbaum, Wayne Hay and Nancy Mills.



Sage Hills Latest Course Slated For Island

Principals of the Sage Hills project have announced plans for a 3900 acre community to be built 10 kilometres south of Courtenay and golf will play a major part of the development.
