Fourteen Canucks Earn Tour Status At CanTour Q-School

(May 11, 2012 - Beaumont, CA) - A total of 67 players earned status on the Canadian Tour after the final round of the Canadian Tour's 2012 Q-School played at Oak Valley Golf Club and The Country Club at Soboba Springs.
 
Thirty players received exempt status after a four-man playoff decided the final three exempt cards.
 
Thirty-seven other players received non-exempt status which will likely see them gain entrance into a number of Canadian Tour events for the 2012 season.
 
Earning medalist honours was Andrew Roque of Monterey Park, CA. Roque shot a final round 5-under 67 highlighted by an eagle on the final hole to clinch the victory after a self proclaimed stress free final round.

Tucker Still On Top At CanTour Q-School

BEAUMONT, Calif. -- Kevin Tucker maintained his lead at the Canadian Tour's 2012 Q-School on Wednesday with his second straight round of 3-under 69.

Tucker's latest round at the Oak Valley Golf Club included just 25 putts, and only 10 on the front nine. 
 
"Putting was definitely the difference today, I made everything I looked at," Tucker said. "I didn't hit the ball as well today but luckily I only had one two putt on the front today."
 
Tucker is among 17 former Canadian Tour members looking to regain status on the developmental tour after making only two cuts in his rookie campaign in 2011.

Canadian Tour Unveils Plans For 2012 Q-School

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Canadian Tour will offer just one qualifying school for the 2012 season.

"The decision to consolidate the Canadian Tour Q-School into a single competition was done for a number of reasons.

The first reason was to offer a maximum number of cards to the field and to move it closer to the start of the domestic Canadian Tour schedule," commissioner Rick Janes said in a Canadian Tour release.
