Zurich Extends Sponsorship Of New Orleans PGA Stop

AVONDALE, Louisiana -- Zurich chief executive officer Martin Senn says the company is extending its sponsorship of the Zurich Classic -- the New Orleans PGA Tour stop -- for five years.
The company isn't disclosing its financial commitment, but Senn says the tournament creates nearly $30 million in annual spending in the New Orleans area.

AVONDALE, Louisiana -- Heavy rain, lightning and a severe weather warning have disrupted Wednesday's Pro-Am event at the PGA Tour's Zurich Classic, briefly forcing players and fans to take shelter in the TPC Louisiana clubhouse.
Authorities briefly evacuated the course and temporary tents while the worst weather passed the New Orleans area.

The British Open is being played this summer at Muirfield, which has no female members.
