TaylorMade’s New RSi Irons Feature Face Slots

Two years after TaylorMade added a 2mm-wide Speed Pocket to the sole of its RocketBladez iron that increased the speed of the face for faster ball speeds, the company introduced vertical face slots (called "Face Slot Technology") in the heel and toe of its new RSi iron lineup.

According to TaylorMade, results gathered from thousands of club fittings found that 76 percent of all iron shots are struck outside the sweet spot — with 61 percent occurring towards the heel and toe.
