Gary Bernard to Continue as CEO of PGA of Canada

ACTON, Ontario (PGA of Canada) — The PGA of Canada’s Board of Directors has approved a three-year contract extension through 2016 for chief executive officer Gary Bernard. The announcement was made today at the PGA of Canada’s national board meetings in Calgary.

Bernard, 57, has been CEO of the PGA of Canada since 2010.



Tom Monaghan Re-Elected as PGA of Canada’s Director

The PGA of Canada is pleased to announce Tom Monaghan has been re-elected as a director on the PGA of Canada's National Board of Directors, from the British Columbia Zone.

Earlier this year, Mark Patterson of Saskatchewan Zone and Greg Sutherland of the Atlantic Zone were acclaimed directors on the national board.

The 2014 Mr. Lube PGA Seniors’ Championship of Canada presented by ADAMS Golf touches down at Beverly Golf & Country Club, August 5-7, 2014.

Located in Copetown, Ont., this classically designed Robbie Robinson gem is often referred to as one of the best secrets in Canada golf. At more than 6,500 yards, the par-70 layout features angled greens, traditional bunkering and large mature trees. 



FireRock Golf Club to Host PGA Women’s Championship of Canada

ACTON, Ontario (PGA of Canada) — The PGA Women’s Championship of Canada presented by Nike Golf will be held July 29-31, 2014, at FireRock Golf Club, just outside London, Ontario.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to host the PGA Women ‘s Championship of Canada presented by Nike Golf here at FireRock Golf Club,” said Duane Swinkles, FireRock’s director of golf. ”This is a highly prestigious national championship and we are honoured to be part of it.”



Women in Coaching Series

With a goal of building a strong network of female golf coaches across the country, the PGA of Canada’s education department is proud to announce the launch of the ‘Women in Coaching Series’ for 2014.

All female PGA of Canada members are encouraged to participate in the series, which features two Coach of New Competitors (CNC) workshops as well as the newly revitalized CN Future Links Leader workshop.
