PGA of Canada Announces 2014 National Award Winners

altOTTAWA (Dave Kaplan/Golf Canada) — PGA of Canada Technical Director Glenn Cundari was named this year's recipient of the National Coach Developer Award presented by Investors Group at the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Awards gala.

Created in 2012, the award is given each year to a coach who inspires and contributes to National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) coaches in their community.

Bryn Parry birdied five of his last seven holes and shot a 5-under-par 67 on Tuesday to take the lead in the PGA Assistants' Championship of Canada presented by Titleist & FootJoy.

The 42-year-old from North Vancouver leads by a shot over a trio of players including Brian McCann, G.W. King, and Kyle Kirkland.

The country's best female professional and amateur golfer highlight the field of this year's PGA Women's Championship of Canada presented by Nike Golf.

Alena Sharp of Hamilton, the top ranked professional female golfer in the country, looks to capture her fourth PGA Women's Championship of Canada later this week at FireRock Golf Club just outside London, Ont. However the No. 2-ranked female amateur golfer in the world, Brooke Henderson hopes to continue her summer of impressive play and add another championship to her resume.
