Team Canada’s Ingram Wins 2016 Ben Kern Coach Of The Year Award

Derek Ingram(Tyler Costigan/Golf Canada) — Team Canada Men’s Head Coach Derek Ingram was among the 10 award winners announced by the PGA of Canada, earning the nod as the Ben Kern Coach of the Year recipient.

“I’m extremely honoured to be receiving this prestigious award from the PGA of Canada—an association I’m very proud to be a member of,” said Ingram, a class “A” member. “It was definitely a year to remember for a lot of different reasons and I’m very thankful to be honoured with this achievement.”

PGA of Canada Foundation CalendarThe PGA of Canada Foundation has teamed with the Movember Foundation to help raise funds for men’s health. A portion of proceeds from all PGA of Canada Foundation Calendar sales this November will be donated directly to the Movember Foundation for men’s health.

The Movember Foundation is the world’s largest men’s health initiative and specifically raises funds towards prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental health.

The PGA of Canada Foundation is asking its members to get on board and help contribute to these great initiatives.

Lookout Point Country ClubFONTHILL, Ontario — Golfers from across the country descend on Niagara Falls for the inaugural Hyundai PGA Scramble of Canada National Final.

Taking place September 29 to October 1 at the famed Lookout Point Country Club in Fonthill, Ont., the national final features 25 teams—comprised of four amateurs and a PGA of Canada Professional—playing in a 36-hole Ambrose Scramble format.

“It’s great that such a historic and wonderful golf course like Lookout Point is hosting the very first Hyundai PGA Scramble of Canada National Final,” said PGA of Canada CEO Gary Bernard. “Teams from all across Canada will undoubtedly enjoy the one-of-a-kind golf at Lookout, but they’re also going to be treated to the off-course experiences they won’t soon forget.”

Arnold PalmerThe PGA of Canada fondly remembers the iconic Arnold Palmer who passed away on September 26, 2016, at the age of 87.

Palmer was a seven-time major champion and winner of 62 PGA Tour events, his first coming at the 1955 Canadian Open at Toronto’s Weston Golf and Country Club.
