-  Defending Masters champion Phil Mickelson talking about how he and Tiger Woods seem to be taking turns winning at Augusta, much like legends Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer in the early 1960’s. Woods won in 2001 - oddly enough, the only time he has played with Mickelson in the final group at the Masters - and in 2002. Mickelson won his first major at the Masters in 2004. Woods answered with a playoff victory in 2005, Mickelson won in a walk in 2006.

-  Young Spanish golfing sensation Sergio Garcia snapping his response to a reporter on Sunday. The reporter had questioned him once again regarding Garcia’s spitting into the cup after 3-putting on the 13th hole during the 3rd round Saturday.

- Jean Van de Velde speaking to Reuters at the Madeira Open about  playing July's British Open Championship at Carnoustie, where in 1999 he let the major slip from his grasp. Eight years ago the 41-year-old Frenchman could have double-bogeyed the 72nd hole at Carnoustie and won but instead he triple-bogeyed it and then lost a playoff in which Briton Paul Lawrie prevailed over him and American Justin Leonard. He still needs to qualify for the major in Scotland but if he does he is refusing to look upon it as a chance to right a wrong and does not even want to recall his Carnoustie misery.
