Recently Inside Golf caught up with a number of golf industry professionals at a trade show in Vancouver, B.C. and asked them 3 questions related to the state of the game and what their thoughts and opinions were on where it might be headed as we go forward.
 
Two of the questions were very basic in regard to gaining some insight from those directly involved in administering to the game as a hugely popular pastime, while the third was slightly more 'whimsical' in nature.

altJason Giesbrecht is now in his 10th year as the CPGA Head Professional at Royal Colwood Golf Club. 

Only the fifth person to hold the position in the last 60 years, Jason is clearly in tune with a role that sees him involved both with meeting the needs of Colwood's 500+ members as well as part of the stewardship team for one of the game's historically important courses. 
 
Inside Golf spoke with him as the club was in the final two months of preparation for hosting the Men's Canadian Amateur for the third time...

Royal Colwood Golf Club Memories: Doug Roxburgh

My first memory of Royal Colwood Golf Club goes back to the summer of 1967 and is still crystal clear.
 
I was a junior at Marine Drive and my instructor, Jack Westover, was an assistant pro who also taught one of the top amateur players in Canada — Wayne Vollmer, another member at Marine Drive.
 
The Canadian Amateur was being held at Colwood, Wayne had finished tied for first in 36-hole stroke-play qualifying and Jack asked me if I wanted to come with him to watch Wayne in the first round of match play.
 
I jumped at the chance.
