Tobiano Golf Course Set to Host Nike Golf PGA Team Championship of Canada Qualifier

Tobiano Golf CourseKAMLOOPS, British Columbia (PGA of BC) — On Tuesday, August 11, 15 teams will contend for a $10,000 purse and nine qualifying spots in the Nike Golf PGA Team Championship of Canada at the BC Regional Qualifier, hosted at Tobiano Golf Course.

The BC qualifying event will be played in two-person, Best-Ball format. Teams consist of two PGA of BC members in good standing, one of whom is a Head Professional, Head Teaching Professional, Executive Professional, or Master Professional. See below for the confirmed field.

LAB@Northview golfer Jake Scarrow overcame a five-stroke deficit in just 10 holes to win the British Columbia Junior Boys' Championship Presented by Canadian Direct Insurance at the Park Meadows Course at the Osoyoos Golf Club.
The incoming University of Idaho freshman shot a final round (-3) 69 to finish at (-13) 275 and beat second- and third-round leader Zaahidali (Ziggy) Nathu by two strokes.

A full field has assembled in Osoyoos at the Park Meadows Course for the British Columbia Junior Boys' Championship Presented by Canadian Direct Insurance.
The 72-hole tournament kicks off Tuesday with many contenders ready to win their first British Columbia Golf trophy of 2015. Defending champion Keaton Gudz of Victoria will tee it up at 8:50 a.m. off the 10th tee with Brody Anjo and Ely Overennay.
Gudz, now playing out of Royal Colwood, will be hoping to go back-to-back after his one-stroke victory at Meadow Gardens in Pitt Meadows last year.

altCN and Golf Canada announced the continuation of CN’s school adoption program this year in Kamloops as an extension of their dedication to junior golf through the CN Future Links Community Tour.

Close to 50 students from both Sk’elep School of Excellence and Pinantan Lake Elementary celebrated with a CN Future Links Field Trip event at Mount Paul Golf Course in honour of CN’s recent adoption of 15 local schools in the Kamloops region. Students received lessons in safety, putting, driving and chipping from Head Professional, Danny Latten.

In today’s world, healthy organizations understand the need to revisit their Mission, Vision and Values on a regular basis. Further, if their environment is undergoing unanticipated change, they are aware that this should be done even more frequently.

And it is fair to say that BC Golf, in fact the entire golf industry, finds itself in an environment that has undergone, and is still undergoing, tremendous change.
