If you didn’t know the event was the Vancouver Golf Tour’s Vancouver Open at Pagoda Ridge and Ledgeview, you might have thought it was the second Vancouver stop on PGA Tour Canada.
Dotting the leaderboard is PC Financial Open runner-up Riley Wheeldon, PGA Tour Canada winner of the Syncrude Boreal Open in Fort McMurray, Kevin Spooner, and PGA Tour Canada regulars Ryan Williams, Adam Cornelson, Brad Clapp, Kevin Stinson, Thomas Hay and Seann Harlingten.

The Blue Ocean Golf Club is excited to announce that Tara Roden will be joining the team as the Head Golf Professional and Director of Instruction.
A 25-year member of the PGA of Canada, dedicated to and specializing in golf instruction, marketing golf and the creation and development of numerous lesson programs, Tara began her duties July 20th.

altWHISTLER, British Columbia — Whistler Golf Club has achieved designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. Stu Carmichael, assistant superintendent, led the effort to obtain sanctuary designation on the property. Whistler is the 95th course in Canada and the 901st in the world to be designated as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

“Whistler Golf Club has shown a strong commitment to its environmental program. They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property,” said Tara Pepperman, Director of Cooperative Sanctuary Programs at Audubon International.

Victoria Times-Colonist political columnist Les Leyne is one of the most respected voices in the Victoria legislative press gallery, but what he's really passionate about is the sport of golf.

Leyne, who's part of a regular Saturday morning foursome at Cordova Bay in Victoria, gave a spirited talk at the 2013 Allied Golf Association of British Columbia State of the Game symposium at the University Golf Club where he predicted what the future of golf will look like come May 15.
