Bryn Parry may have the last afternoon tee time for Round 3 of the PC Financial Open but he knows what he’ll be doing bright and early Saturday.
 
“I’m going to go to hockey at 7 a.m.,” said Parry of attending his kid’s hockey game. “We’ll go and do our family stuff.”

For a tour now called the Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada, it’s heartening to see two Canadian flags at the top of the leaderboard.
 
25-year-old Thomas Hay of Langley leads after Round 1 at the Point Grey Golf & Country Club after a six-birdie, no bogey (-6) round of 66, with North Vancouver club professional Bryn Parry just one stroke back, in a three-way tie for second at (-5) with American Jay Myers and Zimbabwe’s Nyasha Mauchaza.

Canadians Aiming To Get Into U.S. Open At Chambers Bay

Currently, there are no Canadians scheduled to be amongst the 156 players who will tee it up at Chambers Bay starting June 18.
 
But come June 8, in what is termed the Longest Day in Golf, at least 22 Canadians will try to overcome their final obstacle, a 36-hole qualifier being played at 10 sites all across America, to get one of the final spots in the U.S. Open.
