Parry Holds Off Hadwin For C'Wack Open Title

CHILLIWACK, British Columbia -- A day after tying the course record with a 63, Bryn Parry held onto the lead as he knocked off Adam Hadwin in a four hole playoff to win the 2013 edition of the Chilliwack Open, his fifth time taking the tile at this event.

Both Parry and Hadwin finished the two round tourney at 7-under par at the Chilliwack Golf Club. Hadwin, taking some time off from the Web.com Tour, shot 66 to put himself in position to win after an opening round 2-under 69 on Saturday.

Adam Hadwin posted a final round 71 Sunday for his best finish of the year at the Web.com Tour's United Leasing Championship.
 
His 9-under par total left him in fifth place, two shots behind a group of players who needed a playoff on Monday to decide the winner.
 
It was the fourth consecutive round under par for the Abbotsford, B.C. golfer who just missed making it a five-man playoff by two strokes - a double bogey on the par-4 sixth proving to be the difference.

Parry Earns An Exemption Into The RBC Candadian Open By Virtue Of Winning The PGA Of Canada Title

RICHMOND, British Columbia -- Seymour Creek's Bryn Parry certainly earned the 2013 PGA of Canada Championship.

The North Vancouver resident beat No. 1 seed Brian McCann 4&2 on Friday morning and then beat Ontario's Billy Walsh 2&1 in the Friday afternoon final to secure the 2013 PGA of Canada Championship and an automatic spot into next month's RBC Canadian Open.

For the 2nd straight year, the BRAD GARSIDE OPEN at Morgan Creek was a tale of two stories -- a sudden death playoff to declare the Overall Champion and a rise of BC junior talent at the top of the leaderboard.

In the Overall Championship, it took a birdie on the 2nd extra hole for PGA TOUR Canada Pro Kevin Stinson of Mission, BC to win outright over Chilliwack Golf Club Pro Brad Clapp. Both professionals shot scores of 66 (-6) on the day to oust VGT’s largest ‘Open’ field in its 7 year history (112 players).
