Having to write down a snowman “8” on your scorecard is never a good thing and for Abbotsford natives Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor, that’s what doomed their third rounds at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at the TPC Summerlin in Sin City.
Taylor started the day in a tie for 16th, within striking distance of the lead, but when he made a quadruple bogey 8 on the third hole, he could only hold on and salvage a (+2) round of 73 that has him now 13 strokes behind leader Ben Martin, who shot a (-9) round of 62 to rocket into the lead.

Two Lower Mainland products look set to play the weekend at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at the TPC Summerlin in Sin City.

Abbotsford’s Nick Taylor shot a two eagle, two birdie round of (-6) 65 to rocket up the leaderboard, past his Fraser Valley compatriot, Adam Hadwin, who shot a (+1) round of 72 to finish at (-3) after two rounds.

It’s been a great year for Ryan Williams.

The Vancouver Golf Tour alumnus took home the $1,000 top prize at the Sept. 27 Golf West Vancouver Shootout at Gleneagles Golf Course, sinking a 20-foot uphill birdie putt at the last hole to nip Seymour Creek Golf Centre’s Oliver Tubb.

The event, conducted under brilliant sunshine, saw 13 professionals and amateurs play a fun Horse Race shootout on the challenging 9-hole track that is the gem of West Vancouver.
