Victoria's Renfrew Takes First CanTour Title In Thrilling Fashion

(July 1, 2012 - Fort McMurray, AB) - Cory Renfrew of Victoria, B.C. earned his first Canadian Tour victory in thrilling fashion Sunday, defeating Matt Hill of Sarnia, ON in a four-hole playoff to capture the Syncrude Boreal Open presented by AECON. 

Renfrew carded a course record 63 (-9) in the final round, then won the all-Canadian playoff on Canada Day by converting a five-foot birdie putt on the fourth extra hole. 
 
"I knew birdie would have to win it," said Renfrew, who carded nine birdies in his final round including five straight and on six of his first seven holes. "I was fortunate to come out on top."
 
Renfrew's birdie on the fourth extra hole came at the end of a thrilling playoff, during which neither player refused to make a mistake.

MESQUITE, NEVADA (November 6, 2011) - Carl Wolter and David Mobley, a pair of former world long drive champions, reclaimed the top rungs on the power golf ladder by capturing titles at the 2011 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Powered By Dick's Sporting Goods. 
 
Wolter, the 2002 RE/MAX world champion, defeated Ben Tuaone 409-388 to win his second Open Division title.

The two-time Re/Max World Long Drive champion from St. Paul, AB., may best be known for his ability to send golf balls into orbit but he recently showed he has an all-round game when he made the cut at the Nationwide Tour’s Albertson’s Boise Open, held Sept. 15-18.
