Michelle Wie First Woman On Golf Digest Cover In 8 Years

Michelle Wie has  probably been one of the 10 biggest stories in golf this season and on Tuesday Golf Digest confirmed that by putting her on the cover of their upcoming October issue. 
 
Wie joins Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, Paulina Gretzky, Keegan Bradley, Jimmy Fallon, Jordan Spieth, and Jason Dufner as the cover subjects for 2014.
 
Inside the magazine she talks about what got her game back on track and how it helped her to win the Women's U.S. Open.

Adams Golf HQ Closes - Adidas Lays Off 15% Of Workforce

The Adidas Group, parent company to TaylorMade-Adidas, Ashworth and Adams Golf, has said in a statement that it has closed its Adams Golf headquarters in Texas and has consolidated the business into TaylorMade's California headquarters in Carlsbad.
 
At the same time, according to mygolfspy.com, 15 percent of the golf division's staff, a majority of whom were Adams Golf employees, have been laid off.

It's not always easy being rich, as Phil Mickelson reminded us the other day. There are taxes to pay - apparently lots of them - and the price of a tank of jet fuel seems to go up every day.
 
A million dollars a week just doesn't go as far as it used to, now that the wealthy are paying more in taxes.
 
For Mickelson, things have gotten so bad that he's thinking of moving from California so the state doesn't get a cut of the $47 million that Golf Digest estimates he made last year.
