NEC Corporation To Join The LPGA Family As Official Technology Partner

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) announced that NEC Corporation (NEC), a global technology leader, has been named an Official Technology Partner and will present statistics-related features throughout the season on a number of LPGA platforms.

NEC, its U.S.-based subsidiary NEC Corporation of America and the LPGA are developing a new Stats Center powered by NEC for media in 2018 and eventually fans will have an opportunity to interact with more LPGA historical player stats on LPGA.com as a result of the partnership.

NEC will be interwoven into the LPGA Stat story (#NECLPGAStats) through: new infographics, which will be shared on LPGA social channels; a new stat feature, which will debut on LPGA.com; and, starting this week at the Pure Silk Bahamas and continuing in select LPGA domestic broadcasts, there will be an enhanced technology element sponsored by NEC, giving fans insight into player drives on certain holes.

"NEC is looking forward to building a strong relationship with the LPGA and is honored to be part of a global sport that brings excitement to loyal fans all over the world. Our ambition at NEC is to contribute to businesses and customers on a global scale," said Makoto Enomoto, Chief Marketing Officer of NEC Corporation.

"We are excited to be working with the LPGA in a transformational effort to enhance the fan experience," said Joe Salisbury, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, NEC Corporation of America. "Working with the LPGA, we’ll continue to introduce innovations to solutions that bring fans closer to their favorite players."

The partnership will also include hospitality programs in various markets around the world, as well as some technology showcases throughout the year.

"The LPGA is proud to welcome NEC to our global family,” said LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan.  “Together with NEC’s technology innovation, we will be able to bring to life the amazing performance related stats that showcase just how accomplished LPGA players are on course."
