Nicklaus Companies Extends 40-Year Partnership With South Korea’s KOLON Industries

KOLON Industries, a South Korean corporate powerhouse with interests in four business sectors including fashion and apparel, has extended its successful 40-year partnership with the Nicklaus Companies. Jack Nicklaus Apparel has been a key component to this division since 1985, and KOLON recently signed a five-year extension to extend the relationship through 2025.

This year KOLON is revitalizing the Jack Nicklaus brand in Korea through major investments in product design, renovations of the 80+ Jack Nicklaus shops around the country, and a dedicated focus on e-commerce. Among the countless innovations is the new premium lifestyle product launch, the “Honors,” a women’s athleisure apparel line, is suitable for on and off course wear.

Hee Sook Moon, KOLON Industries’ Vice President who manages the Golf Division, is a veteran of top golf and sport apparel brands in Korea and has overseen these emerging Nicklaus initiatives. During the past year, she has been working to make the Jack Nicklaus brand even stronger and expanded its reach in Korea.

“Under Mrs. Moon’s leadership with the entire Jack Nicklaus Team at KOLON, they have helped grow our brand to become dominant in this very important market,” said Andy O’Brien, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Licensing & Communications at the Nicklaus Companies. “Together, we are committed to brand expansion and innovation in both large men’s and women’s businesses. KOLON is not only an industry leader, it is a loyal partner and a tremendous brand ambassador for Jack Nicklaus.”

One example of this innovation is KOLON Industries’ sponsorship of the most popular golf lesson television program in the country, Jin Han Lim’s Turning Point. Lim is one of the world’s top 50 golf instructors; all students and participants in the program wear Jack Nicklaus and Golden Bear branded apparel, bringing great exposure to the partnership between KOLON and the Nicklaus Companies.
