The 2020 U.S. Open, scheduled for June 18-21 at Winged Foot Golf Club, has been postponed due to coronavirus concerns, according to a report from the New York Post.

USGA officials said earlier that they wouldn’t make any decision on the playing of the U.S. Open until mid-April, but a source told the Post that the event has been bumped. Winged Foot is in Mamaroneck, N.Y., less than 30 miles north of New York City, a hot zone for the virus.

A source told the Post that the club is “optimistic” that the U.S. Open could still be played at Winged Foot later in the summer but other outlets have reported that Oakmont Country Club, near Pittsburgh, could also step in to play host to the event, perhaps in September.
