Canada’s Most-Played Junior Golf Tour to Launch 21st Season in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — The 21st season of the Boston Pizza -presented Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s number one-played Junior Golf Tour, will see over 75 events conducted from coast to coast, and after another record-breaking early bird membership registration, junior golfers are set to start the 2019 season at the MJT Humber College PGM Classic presented by TaylorMade in Vancouver, British Columbia, March 16 to 18.

Wait-listed more than one month prior to tee-off, this 54-hole tournament’s full field of over 100 young golfers will play all three competitive rounds at the 90-year-old University Golf Club. This traditional west-coast golf course with long, narrow fairways and towering old growth trees is sure to provide a solid test for the participants, who will also benefit from tournament gifting and prizes courtesy MJT’s valued national sponsors, Humber College Professional Golf Management Program and TaylorMade Golf Canada.

The tournament is set to tee off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, and juniors are vying for titles in seven age divisions as well as various International qualifying opportunities. These include exclusive exemptions for Canadians into the FCG International Championship, and spots for the Low medalist out of Juvenile and Junior Boys into the 66th Annual International Junior Masters in New York State and the 2019 BC Golf Junior Boys Championship. Finally, the MJT event will be ranked at various levels by Golf Canada, British Columbia Golf, the World Amateur Golf Rankings, Junior Golf Scoreboard, Global Junior Golf Rankings, the American Junior Golf Association’s PBE Stars and more.
