LANGLEY, British Columbia — The Boston Pizza-presented Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour continues its circuit in Langley, BC, May 25 and 26, with the MJT Lindsay Kenney Classic at Pagoda Ridge Golf Course, and this tournament offers two outstanding high-level qualifiers for young golfers with major funding provided for the top finishers.

Firstly, the MJT Lindsay Kenney Classic at Pagoda Ridge is the only opportunity in the Pacific Northwest for girls and boys in several age divisions to qualify for one of the top-ranked junior golf tournaments in the world, the elite 2019 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship held in July at Trump National Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, FL. Previous winners of the Optimist tournament include legendary golfers Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Brooke Henderson and Lorena Ochoa.

Secondly, the top boy from the MJT Junior and Juvenile Divisions will be awarded a spot on Team BC at the prestigious Junior Americas Cup, held at Blackhawk Golf Club in Edmonton, AB, later this summer.

As Canada’s number one-played Junior Tour, the non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour encourages young golfers to play in professionally-run tournaments with the objective of improving skills through competition.  Young golfers are invited to take advantage of the incredible qualifying opportunities on offer and register for the May 25 and 26 MJT Lindsay Kenney Classic at Pagoda Ridge on the MJT website.
