Junior Golf Leader In Nova Scotia To Head Up Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour In Atlantic Canada

Andrew Noseworthy

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia — The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT), Canada’s number-one played Junior Golf Tour with close to 90 events across the country scheduled for 2021, is excited to announce that Andrew Noseworthy, PGA of Canada Class “A” Professional, is taking on the role of MJT Tournament Director for Atlantic Canada.

A golf industry veteran, Noseworthy has been a coach for over a dozen years and is a leader in junior golf in Nova Scotia. Noseworthy is a two-time winner of the Junior Leader of the Year award from the PGA of Canada - Atlantic Zone and has held positions at top facilities as Head Professional and in coaching. In 2019, under his guidance as the Director of Instruction, The Links at Brunello won Golf Canada's Future Links Facility of the Year. He has also worked as the Director of Sport Development with the Nova Scotia Golf Association and started ‘Golf Squared,’ his own instruction and coaching business, in 2012.

Noseworthy will be taking over the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s programming from longtime MJT Tournament Director, Louis Melanson, PGA of Canada Professional and General Manager of Fox Creek Golf Club in Dieppe, NB. Melanson has been responsible for the first-class reputation and execution of the MJT in the region for several years and will be greatly missed. “I’ve learned so much from Louis over the years and hope to build on all his hard work. The MJT offers the best competitive opportunities for junior golfers in Atlantic Canada and I can’t wait to see it grow in the years to come,” commented Noseworthy on taking over the reins.

“It is fantastic that Louis brought Andrew on board to take over as we know that the program will continue to be in the best hands!” said Elaine Denton, MJT Director of Administration and Marketing. “A huge welcome to Andrew from all at MJT and we wish Louis the very best in his future.”

The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour aims to develop champions, in golf and in life, promoting the game from grassroots through to provincial, national, university and professional level.
