PGA of BC President Adam Blair

RICHMOND, Columbia — The PGA of BC Board of Directors is proud to name Adam Blair the 41st President of the Association.

Blair, a resident of Salmon Arm who serves as the General Manager and Executive Professional of Quaaout Lodge at Talking Rock Golf Resort in Chase, was selected by the board to assume the presidency following four years as Vice-President and six years on the board overall.

“I am extremely honoured to be selected as the next President of the PGA of British Columbia,” said Blair. “It has been a pleasure to work with so many passionate Golf Professionals during my time on the board and I am excited to help drive the continued growth of our brand and the development of exciting, new educational and playing opportunities for our members.

Blair succeeds Jonathan Kadin, whose term as President began in 2019. Kadin will remain on the Board of Directors as Past President.

“I would like to thank Jon for all of his efforts as President over the past two years,” said Blair. “His vision has helped to create strong member engagement at events and seminars. I will work tirelessly to continue the momentum that he has helped to generate.”

Blair is a 20-year member of the PGA of Canada, earning his first Head Professional role at Salmon Arm Golf Club in 2006 before being appointed to the same role at Talking Rock in 2011. He ascended to the Executive Professional position at the facility in 2019.

The 41-year-old is a past recipient of the PGA of BC’s Dick Munn Golf Professional of the Year Award, earning the honour in 2017. He also took home the Association’s Davie Black Professional Development Award in 2019, and has been a top-10 finisher in the Professional Development Program Order of Merit for six consecutive years, including his first-place ranking in 2016.

Also appointed as Association executives are Ashley Zibrik (Head Professional, Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club), who will serve as Vice-President, Finance and Lenny Cyr (Class “A” Professional, Seymour Golf & Country Club), who enters the role of Vice-President, Administration.

The inductions of the PGA of BC executives, as well as the four directors elected to the board, became effective during the 2021 PGA of BC Annual General Meeting held virtually this afternoon.

“I am excited to get to work with our new board, Donald (Miyazaki, PGA of BC Executive Director) and the office team in charting the future path for our Association,” said Blair.
