Golf Players Urge Ontario Government To Reverse Course On Shutdown Order

Golfers across Ontario have had to put their on-course plans on pause. But the feeling from golfers is less of anger and more of confusion and sadness, TheStar.com’s Adam Stanley writes.

Premier Doug Ford announced that the province would close outdoor recreational amenities, such as golf courses, among other measures as part of an extended province-wide stay-at-home order.

Following the announcement, a Change.org petition seeking to allow outdoor activities gathered more than 15,000 signatures in 24 hours. The province has already walked back the closure of playgrounds, and Mike Kelly, the executive director of Golf Ontario, is hoping golf will be next.
