DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — The LPGA Foundation announced that Ballyhack Golf Club, Hidden Creek Golf Club and Briggs Ranch Golf Club, all Dormie Network clubs, have partnered with LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, First Tee Roanoke Valley, First Tee Jersey Shore and First Tee Greater San Antonio to host Girls Golf clinics this fall.
Dormie Network, a national network of private destination golf clubs, joined the LPGA family in June of 2019 as an Official Marketing Partner with the goal of helping the LPGA in its efforts to grow the game.
The no-cost events offer instruction on the fundamentals of golf in a fun and safe environment with a focus on the 5 E's of LPGA*USGA Girls Golf: Empower, Enrich, Engage, Exercise, and Energize. Open to girls aged 6-17 with an interest in golf, this year’s events will feature themed activities and special appearances from LPGA Tour players Laura Diaz, Alana Uriell and former player Meaghan Francella.
The first event will be held on Oct. 16 at Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke, Va. Two-time LPGA Tour winner and Dormie Network ambassador Laura Diaz will join the group for a clinic and demonstration. Girls will then rotate through golf skill stations and create a watercolor painting of the beautiful mountains surrounding Ballyhack to take home.
“We look forward to our annual LPGA*USGA Girls Golf Day at beautiful Ballyhack Golf Club each fall. The club and leadership are so welcoming! It's a special afternoon filled with laughs and fun for girls from our Valley that supports their interest in golf,” said Jennifer Blackwood, Site Director for Girls Golf – First Tee – Roanoke. “We are looking forward to another memorable afternoon that supports girls' interest in the game.”
“Ballyhack couldn’t be happier to welcome back LPGA*USGA Girls Golf Day in conjunction with the First Tee of Roanoke Valley,” said Ian Sikes, Ballyhack General Manager. “The opportunity to give back to the local community while also supporting youth in golf continues to be one of Dormie Network’s key initiatives and in alignment with the Dormie Network Foundation. Our team looks forward to a fun and special day at Ballyhack on October 16th.”
On Oct. 23, Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. will host a Girls Golf clinic with Halloween-themed 5-E stations. Girls will participate in pumpkin putting, chipping for skeletons and an arts and crafts project. They will also have a chance to spend time with former LPGA Tour player Meaghan Francella.
“We’re simply thrilled to host another LPGA*USGA Girls Golf Clinic at Hidden Creek Golf Club” said Pam Boccaccio, Site Director for Girls Golf – First Tee – Jersey Shore. “We are so excited to share that this year’s clinic sold out in less than four days. That is great news and is a strong indicator that we are reaching the girls and they want to come back and participate. We look
forward to further growing our relationship with Dormie Network and making this a yearly event. Together, we can continue to grow the game for our girls.”
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the LPGA to host the Girls Golf event at Hidden Creek Golf Club,” said Jon Chapman, Hidden Creek General Manager. “This year’s event will be enhanced by Meaghan’s Tour experience and the positive role model she can be for the kids.”
Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas will host the final Girls Golf event on Nov. 20. LPGA Tour player Alana Uriell will welcome the participants before they participate in four different stations, including a “crazy putt-putt course” with paper turkeys and a chipping race with pumpkins used to measure progress. At the arts and crafts station, girls will be able to make their own turkey and decorate pumpkins while writing things that they are thankful for.
“We are so excited to host this event for the third year at Briggs Ranch Golf Club. We are very appreciative of this experience for our girls and how they have been able to connect to the LPGA Tour through this event,” said Brittany Taylor, Site Director for Girls Golf – First Tee – San Antonio.
“At Briggs Ranch we continue to enjoy the partnership with the LPGA and Girls Golf clinics. Year over year we have seen tremendous growth and look for the same this year,” said Derrick Dixon, Briggs Ranch General Manager. “The entire team at Briggs enjoys participating in such a great opportunity to introduce young ladies to the game of golf. Giving back to the community in such a simple but impactful way is a pillar of who we are as an organization. The Dormie Network Foundation continues to give back to local communities through the game of golf and hosting the Girls Golf clinic is one of many opportunities.”
Through these events event and others, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf has a goal of creating a safe space for young women to come together and encourage each other, not only in golf but in everyday activities. These events focus on messaging related to mentorship and peer-to-peer networking, all while creating lasting friendships and teaching girls that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
