Kerr, Crisologo Finish 1-2 As SFU Clan Wins WWU Invitational

BELLINGHAM, Washington (Steve Frost/SFU Athletics) — Sophomore Scott Kerr fired a final round six-under-par 66 to edge teammate Chris Crisologo for medalist honours, helping Simon Fraser University capture the 46th Annual WWU Invitational Tuesday at Bellingham Golf & Country Club.
Kerr won his first career tournament by two strokes over Crisologo with a three-round score of 10-under-par 206. Kerr birdied the par 3 18th hole, one of seven birdies in the round, to finish at 6-under par at the 54-hole tournament. Kerr recorded rounds of 71, 69 and 66.
Defending tournament champion and two-time GNAC Player of the Year Crisologo, who held a 2-stroke lead for individual medalist honours over Kerr after the first 36 holes, shot a final round 70 to fall two strokes back. His round included four birdies and two bogeys.
Kerr and Crisologo had 14 birdies each during the tournament. As a team, SFU lead the tournament with 54 birdies. Simon Fraser finished with a team score of -8 (856) for an 11-stroke victory over Oklahoma Christian and UBC.
SFU’s Sy Lovan (77-74-70=221) finished tied for 31st while Alan Tolusso (72-74-79=225) was tied for 45th and Marcus Brown (77-75-75=227) tied for 53rd.
SFU’s Craig Titterington, who was competing unattached, finished in the top 20 with a share of 12th place but was not included among the Clan’s scoring players.
