In this month’s BC edition of the Inside Golf Digital Magazine, our cover story reflects the positive input that comes from our province with Golf Canada, the governing body for golf in Canada.
Following the recently held virtual Annual General Meeting, aside from the announcement that Ontario’s Liz Hoffman will continue on as president for another term, it was also determined that Victoria, BC’s Dale Jackson will reprise his role as the Vice President while fellow Victoria resident Patrick Kelly along with North Vancouver’s Michelle Collens (BC Golf’s current president) will be on the board.
Adding to the BC presence was David Atkinson, himself a former BC Golf president, as he was named co-recipient of the 2021 Bruce Mitchell Volunteer of the Year Award.
Be sure to check out the story on two BC players, Henry Lee of Coquitlam and Ziggy Nathu from Richmond, who are vying for spots on the PGA TOUR Canada this year as they attend Q-Schools south of the border.
We also have a nice story, courtesy of BC Golf writer Brad Ziemer, on a small BC business located in Vernon who are making a difference helping the Canadian Cancer Society with their unique ‘Plaid for Dad’ campaign.
You should also enjoy a couple of stories that look at Phil Mickelson’s controversial comments regarding the proposed Saudi-backed tour and a couple of tips on how to control your wedge shots as well as how to escape the dreaded ‘fried egg’ lie in a bunker.
Enjoy your golf and stay safe.
