Mike Belbin’s name will once again be engraved on the Sunice Tour Championship trophy for the third time in the last 4 years.
Belbin had another slow start going 3 over on the first 4 holes, which relinquished his lead to Jamie Kureluk (GolfTEC Calgary). Mike finished strong on the front nine which allowed him to once again regain the lead.
After 27 holes, David MacComb (Blackhawk GC) climbed his way to the top of the leaderboard joining Mike Belbin at one under par but then preceded to bogey 3 out of the next 4 holes to fall 3 shots behind Mike. With 6 holes left to play, Belbin’s lead was insurmountable as he held on to win by 2 shots over Jamie Kureluk (GolfTEC Calgary), Keith Whitecotton (The Quarry GC) and David MacComb (Blackhawk GC).
With no one being able to master the slick greens and favourable course conditions The Royal Mayfair GC seemed to come out victorious this time. All 39 PGA of Alberta Professionals that qualified for this event had a memorable experience over the last 2 days at this historic facility.
