VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Canada’s top female Junior Golfer, Susan Xiao, 16, of Surrey, British Columbia, has selected the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) to receive the ANA (All Nippon Airways) Inspiration’s Gateway City Grant for 2018, helping to launch the 20th season of Canada’s number one played Junior Golf Tour on a high note.

The top-ranked girls in each of ANA’s 11 North American Gateway Cities - of which Vancouver is one – who have qualified into the ANA Inspiration tournament held by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, March 22-25, 2018, are each given the opportunity to give a local golf association that has impacted their life a grant of $5000, courtesy of ANA and the AJGA.

Xiao, who has competed for many years on the MJT and is the 2017 Canadian Junior Girls Champion, said, “MJT has offered me endless opportunities to grow as a player and I strongly believe they will do the same for future juniors. Through MJT, I was able to meet wonderful people and learn many valuable lessons. I can’t possibly thank MJT enough for everything they’ve done for me.”

“What an honour that Susan chose the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour to receive this generous award. Susan was MJT Miura Golf Junior Girls Player of the Year in both 2016 and 2017, and has impressed us for years with her personality and incredible talent,” said Murray Poje, MJT Executive Director. “Thank you to Susan, and thank you very much to ANA and the AJGA for creating this opportunity to positively impact junior golfers in Canada.”
