RICHMOND, British Columbia (PGA of BC) — The PGA of BC is saddened to learn of the passing of Class “A” member Jeff Hollman, who died suddenly on February 26, 2018, in Penticton at the age of 48.

Originally from Edmonton, Hollman enjoyed a 25-year career as a PGA of Canada Professional that saw him stationed at several courses across Western Canada. He had been an Assistant Professional at Penticton Golf & Country Club since 2009.

Hollman trained as a chef at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology before transitioning into a career as a Golf Professional, joining the PGA of Canada in 1992 and obtaining his Class “A” designation in 1996. He began as an Assistant at Edmonton’s J.R. Golf Course, then earned his first Head Professional position in 1997 at Saskatchewan’s Loon Lake Golf Club. He would return to J.R. Golf Course for a four-year stint as Head Professional in 2000, and in 2004 moved to the Rolling Green Golf Course to serve as Manager and Head Professional until his arrival in Penticton.

Hollman was known for his excellent work with junior golfers in the Penticton area, growing the club’s youth program to nearly 100 juniors in recent years. He was the Interior Region’s nominee for the PGA of BC’s Coach of the Year Award in 2013, the same year he helped Penticton’s entry in the Jack McLaughlin Memorial PGA of BC Pro-Junior Championship to a runner-up finish.

Hollman is survived by wife Martina and daughters Honor and Kathryn.

A celebration of life will take place Thursday, March 15 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Penticton Golf & Country Club. As well, a fund has been established in Hollman's name to benefit his family and Penticton junior golfers. Penticton Golf & Country Club will be accepting donations in memoriam by cheque, cash or E-Transfer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
