Golf Canada is looking the right person to take on managing their flagship event... the RBC Canadian Open
A recent posting on the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) website shows Golf Canada as still looking for a replacement Tournament Director for the RBC Canadian Open.
The job posting (which is not dated) states the position as being…”responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations and revenue of event, as well as the growth and development of the event on an annual basis.”
The length of time since the removal of then tournament director Brent McLaughlin during last year’s event is quite a surprise with this tournament only four months away.
It should therefore come as no surprise the listing calls for the position to be starting in March.
Even more surprising is that the job is not included on the career section of the Golf Canada website which could mean they are past the point of accepting resumes.
Required skills / experience include “Successful completion of a post-secondary education in Sports Management or related discipline or a combination of education and relevant work experience” and a “Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing events and stakeholders as well as leading and mentoring a team.”
