Newly-named Country Club de Bogotá Championship To Remain In Colombia Through 2023.
BOGOTA, Colombia (PGATOUR.COM) — The PGA TOUR and Country Club de Bogotá announced a five-year contract for the Web.com Tour’s longstanding event in Colombia, which will be renamed the Country Club de Bogotá Championship. In addition to the new tournament name, the TOUR announced the addition of a second course and an increase in field size to 156 players, making it the largest Web.com Tour field in Latin America.
“For the past eight years, the Web.com Tour has contested one of its most prestigious events at Country Club de Bogotá,” said Club President Andres Fernandez DeSoto. “We are proud and excited to announce this new partnership with the Tour, and to assume full responsibility for the success of the Country Club de Bogotá Championship, which is undoubtedly one of the most important golf tournaments in all of South America.”
The tournament, which dates back to 2010 and has featured participants such as Jordan Spieth (2013) and Justin Thomas (2014), will now be secured on the Web.com Tour schedule through 2023.
