Webb Simpson — a member of Ryder Cup USA in 2012 and 2014 — made a massive stride toward his bid for a third Ryder Cup appearance with his win on Sunday at TPC Sawgrass in the Players Championship.
Simpson began Players Championship week at No. 23 in the standings and jumped all the way up to No. 9 with his first victory in four years.
He was the only hopeful to move inside the top 10 this week.
