Airdrie, AB (May 5, 2017) - The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) continues its Alberta tournament schedule in Airdrie this weekend at the Woodside Golf Course. Juniors from Western Canada will be competing for a spot on Team West for the DeLaet Cup which is hosted by PGA Professional, Graham DeLaet.
The DeLaet Cup will be played from June 13-15 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan features a Ryder Cup style tournament between teams composed of juniors from Eastern Canada vs Western Canada.
Woodside Golf Course will provide juniors will some challenging holes as the course was designed by renown Canadian golf course architect William G. Robinson. Juniors should not take this course lightly after looking at the yardage on the scorecard.
Despite playing 6,200 yards, Woodside Golf Course has numerous strategically laid out bunkers and water hazards that play along nine holes of the course.
Players will have good scoring conditions during their first round on Saturday as the weather forecast predicts for temperatures hovering around 20 degrees with small wind gusts. The final round will see the temperature drop a little to about 12 degrees with higher winds, which could give players a challenge coming down the stretch on Sunday.
