WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, West Virginia — The PGA Tour’s annual stop in West Virginia has officially moved to September.

The Greenbrier resort announced that A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier will be held Sept. 12-15 on the Old White TPC in White Sulphur Springs.

In previous years the tournament typically was held around the Independence Day holiday in July.

The tournament will be part of the PGA Tour’s fall schedule, taking place three weeks after the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

The tournament honors the nation’s military members and first responders and will occur the week of the anniversary of the September 2001 U.S. terrorist attacks.

The resort also says Greenbrier vice president of golf Robert Harris will replace Habibi Mamone as the tournament’s executive director and that HNS Sports Group of Dublin, Ohio, has been retained to support the tournament’s business operations.
