Play Mickelson National 2019 and Golf for a Cause

Mickelson National Golf Club

CALGARY, Alberta — The much-anticipated Calgary course designed by World Golf Hall of Fame golfer Phil Mickelson will open this June for an unbelievable golf experience.

Though Mickelson National Golf Club isn’t scheduled to open officially until 2020, the facility is offering an unparalleled opportunity to register to play a selection of the course’s best holes this summer – prior to its scheduled grand opening for members and guests in 2020. A limited number of tee times will be allotted for play from June – September 2019.

“Situated in the heart of the sought-after community of Harmony, the opening of Mickelson National Golf Club is the culmination of a dream many years in the making. We are proud and pleased with how the course is coming together and are anxiously anticipating our official grand opening in 2020. Because Mickelson National will be a completely private club when it opens, few people will have the opportunity to experience the wonders of this course, that is why we are thrilled to offer the chance for people to play a limited number of holes in 2019”, enthuses Barry Ehlert, President, Mickelson National Golf Club & Managing Partner, Windmill Golf Group.

After 13 years, the dream of partnering with golf great, Phil Mickelson, to form his first signature golf course in Canada is coming to fruition. When completed, the course situated on Harmony’s eastern border, will feature dramatic elevations to entice golfers of every level. Stretching over 240 acres, this dramatic course offers a new experience to Alberta golfers with challenging design, water features, and sensational landscaping to reflect the nearby Rocky Mountains.

In support of the Calgary PREP Program, Windmill Golf Group will be accepting donations over the 4-month play period to support the charity’s valuable programs and services. The PREP Program assists families who have a child with Down Syndrome in finding expert advice, innovative services and hope for their children’s future.

PREP Executive Director Curtis Slater comments, “PREP has been a part of our lives since we first found out that our son had Down syndrome. The dedicated staff answered our questions, provided our son with the support he needed and helped us to navigate the complicated systems we faced. Now in my role as PREP Executive Director, I hope to continue to support other families in the same way we received support when we needed it the most. We are only able to do that with the assistance of great community donors and partners such as Windmill Golf Group. We would like to thank Barry and his team for working with us to highlight our mandate, thereby enabling us to keep empowering parents on the challenging, yet ultimately rewarding, journey of parenting a child with special needs.”

The opportunity to participate in this exclusive event is limited. Golf enthusiasts will not want to miss the opportunity to sample this amazing course before it opens. Registration to secure a tee time is ongoing at previewplay.mickelsonnational.com.
