MEN’S TOP 10

A minor shake up near the top of the Top-10.

Adam Hadwin maintains the No. 1 Canadian ranking but some jostling behind him sees Graham DeLaet move up to No. 2 with a six place gain. DeLaet finished in a tie for 20th at the PGA’s Greenbrier Classic, earning 1.94 world ranking points in the process.

Mackenzie Hughes also finished in a tie for 20th but only picked up three places in the world rankings, leaving him just two places back of DeLaet.

Nick Taylor moves up to No. 4 with a six spot gain as well thanks to a tie for ninth at The Greenbrier. It’s his fourth top 10 result of the season and was worth 4.42 world ranking points. Unfortunately, Taylor just missed out qualifying for the Open Championship as one of the top four finishers at the tournament who were not already exempt into the major championship.

David Hearn slipped down to No. 5 in Canada but picked up one spot in the world rankings after a tie for 14th at The Greenbrier. It was the fourth top 15 result in his last four tournaments and was worth 3.15 world ranking points.

Corey Conners made the biggest move among the Top-10, gaining 48 spots in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for ninth at the Web.com’s LECOM Health Challenge. It’s his third top 10 result of the season on the development tour – first since January. The result was worth 1.96 world ranking points.

Outside the Top-10, Ryan Williams gained 159 spots in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for sixth at the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Canada Players Cup event.

WOMEN’S TOP 10

Augusta James made the biggest move among the Top-10, picking up 30 places in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for 28th at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic. It’s the first career weekend cut for the former Team Canada squad member in 10 LPGA starts.

Brittany Marchand, another former Team Canada squad member, moved up a spot to take over the No. 6 ranking in Canada after picking up seven places in the world rankings this past week. Marchand finished in a tie for eighth at the Symetra Tour event in Indiana. It was her first top 10 result of the season for the Orangeville golfer who was just a shot off the lead after the opening round.

Outside the Top-10, Megan Osland makes her Canadian rankings debut at No. 18. The Kelowna, B.C. golfer finished a career-best tied for 14th at the Symetra Tour event in Indiana.

MEN’S AMATEUR TOP 10

Matt Williams made the biggest move of the week, picking up 26 spots in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for 19th at the Sahalee Players Championship. The result helping the Calgary golfer move up to No. 9 in the Canadian rankings.

Williams moved past Blair Bursey, who gained six spots in the world rankings after finishing in a tie for fourth at the Sahalee championship, three strokes behind the winner.

Top-ranked Garrett Rank moved back into the top 100 of the amateur rankings, picking up 11 places this past week. Rank has gained 24 places in the world rankings over the last two weeks.

Hugo Bernard, Joey Savoie and Chris Crisologo have all qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship set to take place at Riviera Country Club next month. Bernard and Crisologo each took medallist honours at their respective qualifiers.

Outside the Top-10, Myles Creighton gained 177 spots in the world rankings following his victory at the Nova Scotia Men’s Amateur, which elevated him from No. 19 up to No. 14 in the Canadian rankings.

Biggest move: Christian Zalli of Vancouver gained 1,386 spots in the world rankings after winning the B.C. Junior Boys Championship. A par on the final hole of the tournament helped Zalli defeat his younger brother for the title.

WOMEN’S AMATEUR TOP 10

Jessica Ip tied for the biggest move among the Top-10 players, picking up 14 spots to move up to No. 6 in the Canadian rankings. Team Canada Development Squad member Monet Chun was the other player who picked up 14 spots in the rankings this past week.

Top-ranked Maddie Szeryk is off to the U.S. Women’s Open after being named an alternate. The Golf Canada National Squad member will join Brooke Henderson and Alena Sharp as the only Canadians entered into the tournament.

Younger sister Ellie Szeryk picked up 133 spots after winning the Investors Group Ontario Junior Girls’ Championship. The enabled the 15-year-old to climb up to No. 14 in the Canadian rankings.

Biggest Move: Kehler Koss gained 275 spots in the world ranking after winning the Alberta Junior Girls Championship by a single stroke.
