Tiger Woods has officially committed to play The Genesis Invitational in 2020 — the first year of the tournament under its new elevated status honoring the 82-time PGA TOUR winner.
Woods is the tournament host for the Feb. 10-16 event at The Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, site of his very first PGA TOUR start in 1992 as a 16-year-old.
The longstanding tournament is now an invitational and will boast an elite 120-man field. Winners will be afforded a three-year exemption on the PGA TOUR in line with the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by Mastercard and the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide that is hosted by Jack Nicklaus.
“It’s an honor for us to be in the same category as Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer,” Woods said.
