The Ontario-based company, who operates more than 32 courses primarily in Ontario, has made its first foray into Western Canada.
GolfNorth Properties, Canada’s largest consolidator of public golf courses, has purchased the historic Salmon Arm Golf Club in British Columbia’s Shuswap Region.
Founded in 1994, the company based in Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario has since expanded steadily. With the addition of Salmon Arm Golf Club, GolfNorth now operates golf properties from British Columbia to Cape Breton.
“We are thrilled to be moving into British Columbia. Salmon Arm is a beautiful city and the largest urban centre in the Shuswap,” said GolfNorth President and CEO, Shawn Evans in a press release.
The course, with valuations in the $4 million range being quoted, has been for sale since early in 2019 with the Club actively seeking buyers.
The Club's board unanimously approved the sale to GolfNorth on November 12th and the purchaser confirmed the sale just two days later in a press release. Purchase prices have not been released.
“GolfNorth wishes to extend a warm welcome and thank you to the Salmon Arm Board of Directors for all their cooperation and hard work in putting this transaction together,” Mike Garside, GolfNorth’s Chief Operating Officer said.
“We are incredibly excited to be expanding into B.C. and look forward to working with the key management team at SAGC.”
