British Columbia Golf is concerned for the health and wellness of all golfers. We strongly support the concept of social distancing as a protective measure. Getting out into the sunshine and playing 9 or 18 holes of golf meets the guidelines for social distancing and has other significant health benefits both physically and mentally.
The following procedure has been established for all British Columbia Golf Championships during the 2020 season. We strongly recommend competitors enter any events scheduled in which they intend to play this season. In the event British Columbia Golf cancels the event or the competitor needs to withdraw, entry fees will be 100% refunded.
Decisions on whether or not an event will proceed will be made and communicated to each competitor no later than 4 weeks prior to the start of the event.
As an example the British Columbia Mid-Amateur / Mid-Master Championship is slated to start Monday May 25, 2020. British Columbia Golf will advise no later than Friday April 24, 2020 if the event will be held. Refunds of entry fees will be processed as soon as possible in the event of cancellation.
This procedure will remain in place through the balance of the championship season.
Championships will be cancelled not postponed.
