AGA-BC Updates COVID-19 Best Practices As Food Establishments Re-Open


Today is a day to celebrate one more step in our road to recovery in British Columbia as food service establishments are now permitted to resume operations with the following rules and proper COVID-19 protection protocols in place!

WorkSafeBC has also released protocols for retail and office operations that are applicable to the British Columbia Golf Industry and please note the new requirement for a COVID-19 Safety Plan and existing requirements for an Exposure Control Plan.

Lastly, this has all been added to our AGA-BC's COVID-19 Protection - Best Practices for the Responsible Operation of BC Golf Courses manual.

Food Service Establishments

On March 15, British Columbia's Provincial Health Officer repealed and replaced her previous order to permit clubhouse, lounge, restaurant and patio seating once again in British Columbia's golf course facilities as of today, May 19.

Subjects include:

  1. Physical distancing must be maintained
  2. There must be no more than 6 patrons seated at a table
  3. There must be no more than 50% of the usual capacity of patrons present at one time
  4. There must be no events held at the establishment that include more than 50 ppl present at one time
  5. If practicable, you must retain contact information for one member of every party of patrons for thirty days in the event that there is a need for contact tracing on the part of the medical health officer
